After fleeing to the UK and beginning their work as a paranormal investigator, Vanity met Alice -- an investigative journalist in the area. The two crossed paths frequently in their lines of work, with Alice often researching many of the same unexplainable cases that Vanity pursued. Where Vanity looked for answers in the paranormal, Alice often sought the truth in logic and reason. They became close over time, eventually working on cases together when the need for both of their skills arose. The exchange of information was valuable to both of their jobs, sometimes allowing one to make a breakthrough where the other could not.Eventually, Alice left to investigate the string of disappearances leading back to the mysterious Oletus Manor. When she didn't return for several months, Vanity grew increasingly concerned-- until, eventually, deciding to take matters into his own hands, and following in her wake.Now they both remain trapped in that purgatorial space, alongside the many others who had gone missing.
